Easy Canvas Prints review
As much as Luis and I are enjoying photography, I was excited to get an email from Easy Canvas Prints asking if I wanted to review a canvas. That was an easy "yes" as we are planning on offering them for sale in my shop.

Mountain harvest...
Fall is all about harvest here in the North Carolina mountains, and nowhere is that more evident than in my parents' garden.

Autumn photography
Fall is definitely the time Luis and I like to go out and shoot the changing landscape here in the mountains. You just never know what you're going to get and foggy mornings can make for some great shots.
We headed up the Blue Ridge Parkway early one morning last week, and I finally found an overlook cleared enough to get this sunrise shot over Waynesville. We could also hear something moving in the woods, so I made this a very quick stop!

Before and after of the antique chest
I painted five pieces of furniture in the girls' room, plus all the art and mirrors, so I've been sharing pieces one at a time instead of one super long post.
Today I wanted to show you the before of this chest.

Fall decorating ideas for outdoors
One thing I have always loved to do is use organic elements in decorating -- both inside and out. Instead of heading to a big box decor store, just look around your own yard, or even a neighbor's, for things you can use to decorate your home for fall. Be sure to ask your neighbor first, though:-)
I thought I would share some of the things I have done in the past to decorate our outdoor areas for fall.

Origami art and painting the wash stand
I wanted to share some more details in the girls' room makeover so I thought I would show how my daughter and I made the artwork and how I painted the antique wash stand.

Organic Fall decorating ideas for indoors...
Even though it's hot and not remotely fall here in the North Carolina mountains, I thought I would give y'all some ideas for fall decorating indoors using organic and natural elements.
I like to bring the outside in as I like for the inside to reflect what is going on outside, so I take my cues from nature.
I LOVE apples, which are abundant this time of year here, and find they are a great option for fall, plus you can eat them when you're through using them as decor:-)

Painting Isabelle's vanity...
Thank you all so much for the wonderful comments about my girls' French bedroom last week:-) I worked so hard on this room, and seeing it come together was extremely rewarding.
I wanted to share how I painted all the furniture in the room starting with my grandmother's vanity.

Coming home...
Yesterday was my birthday. It was one of those milestone birthdays -- I won't say what year:-)
It is a birthday I will remember, though, not because of the year, but because of the amazing gift I received.
